The Lager Ness Monster was brewed to produce an incredibly high original gravity (OG). Jack's Abby utilized a special brewing technique that reuses wort runoff in a second mash. This created a wort with a high amount of fermentable sugars in it (translating to a high OG). After this process is complete they added even more sugar, which pushed the gravity even further. From there the beer was fermented, then conditioned in bourbon barrels. The result is a beer with a tremendously deep flavor and dark color.
