Buffalo’s signature sweet - Sponge Candy - are squares of crunchy caramelized honeycomb toffee sponge that are drenched in a thick coating of impossibly rich and creamy chocolate.
Watson's Chocolate in Buffalo has been producing Sponge Candy at their venerable establishment since 1945 and is a customer favorite. In addition, Watson's has consistently been awarded "Buffalo's Best Sponge Candy" by local television, radio, and magazines.
Even with 40 tons of Sponge Candy sold annually, Watson’s is still crafted by hand in small batches by highly trained candy makers, using traditional copper kettles for the sponge, and certified Fair Trade cocoa in the chocolate.
As always, our Sponge Candy is delicious anytime, but we suggest enjoying it fresh – it’s best eaten within a week or two of purchase. Heat and humidity are enemies of sponge candy.
Sorry, we generally do not ship sponge candy when outside temperatures are above 80°F/30°C.
